Use Case:

I designed this powerstrip to distribute power from a lipo battery to four automotive lights via xt60 connectors. It is handy anywhere you need more than one xt60 power source.

Design:

The case is designed for the xt60 connector type that has a protective cap. With this style there is a lip that prevents the connectors from pulling out of the case, but it should also work with normal xt60 connectors.

Due to also having an output cable it can be placed in line with other power consumers.

Assembly:

  1. The xt60 connectors are inserted
  2. Two busbars are solderd to the + and - terminals of the connectors (I used 1.5 mm² solid wire)
  3. Wires(14 AWG) that lead to input and output of the powerstrip are fed through the case and also soldered to the busbars
  4. The case is chilled in a freezer for 15 minutes to prevent hot glue from melting it
  5. The case is filled with hot glue to fix the connectors and wires in place, also acting as a strain relief
  6. the cover is pressed on
  7. The case is once again placed in the freezer to prevent melting
