A two-piece box designed to securely hold a single, SLAS-footprint, microplate. If printed in light-tight material, the box should also be light-tight, and suitable for holding samples subject to photobleaching.
The top cover should press down on the plate flange, allowing it to prevent the plate from moving without touching the top of the plate. Parameters in the SCAD file (see below) allow for adjustments: the box should be usable for taller plates, and different flange heights, so long as the footprint and flange width comply with SLAS standards. Printing should be relatively simple, but to avoid warping a brim may be required. Note that the tolerance value is per side, and includes the plate tolerance itself, which is 0.25mm per side (0.5mm total) for the plate width/depth per SLAS standards, so reducing the tolerance below that value may result in plates not fitting even if the box is printed perfectly.
Note that we label our plates on the side, and this box design reflects that. A future version may allow this to be configurable.
This is version 1.0.0 of the box.
