Rope End Caps (Aglets)

Protective caps for ropes (docking lines, sheets, running rigging, etc).

Handy when using with constrictor clutches (such as those by Cousin-Trestec or Ronstan).

Available sizes:

• 14mm
• 12mm
• 10mm
• 1/2" (0.5")
• 3/8" (0.375")

Printing

Use very slow speed, both inner and outer brim, no supports.

The filament can be either flexible or rigid, ideally opaque and UV-resistant.

Installation

1. Put a thin zip tie on the rope's end
2. Soak the very tip of the rope in resin, let it cure
3. Remove the zip tie
4. Use knife or file to reduce the diameter of the hardened end
5. Put a bit of adhesive inside the cap
6. Light the rope's tip on fire to achieve chemical binding
7. While the rope's tip is soft and aflame, stuff the rope's end into the cap
8. Let it cure
