This is a simple but effective tool for making biodegradable plant pots out of paper. The pots are intended for use as seed starter pots.

As paper is biodegradable, these pots are zero waste - you can just plant the whole thing and the paper will break down in the ground, no fuss! They'll last a few weeks at least before they start to break down too so plenty of time to get your seeds going!

The mould itself is designed to make a 40mm pot and is labelled as such however I believe it should scale up or down okay to a degree. At some point you will find that the hollows in the bottom of the mould and the base piece are either too deep or shallow to form the bottom of the pot properly - if there's a particular size a lot of people need then please let me know and I'll happily make it but 40mm seemed a good size for most use cases.

To use the mould you simply cut a strip of paper a little wider than your pots will be tall, roll it up on the mould then fold the excess into the indent in the bottom of the mould. You then press the whole thing (paper and mould) into the base piece and press down firmly to form the bottom of the pot. I've made an instructable detailing the whole process too.

In terms of printing, this is a very easy print. You shouldn't need any supports or a raft etc. and any reasonably robust material should work fine. I printed in PETG but PLA would do the job fine too, just make sure you have at least 15-20% infill so it stands up to use.
