Designed in tandem with my tool head strain relief found here…

https://www.printables.com/model/620904-voron-v02-r1-umbilical-strain-relief-super-light

This is the Main Printer side PCB mount.
designed from the ground up I have…

  1.  made it a little more chunky (5mm) for added rigidity and to lower the PCB slightly
  2.  added strain relief for the umbilical
  3.  made a “no loss” cable tie point for the umbilical wiring loom (this stays attached to the loom when removing the connector)
  4.  made two versions V1 with bowden hole and V2 without bowden hole
the V2 can be used with…

  5. reduced the size for extra cable entry to reduce hot chamber air leaking out (most only run 2 very small wires out here for extra sensors so a big hole is just not needed.

to install this mod you will need…

  1. 2 x M3 x 10mm screws (for mounting to the motor blocks)
  2. some glue for the strain relief
  3. 2.5 x 100mm cable tie

once you have printed all the parts trial fit them together. I have added some slight tolerance so they should just fit nicely.

once you have them fitting well take the main strain relief body  and place glue at these locations (arrowed)

then slot it into place in the Umbilical Mount, clamp together and leave until set.

after installing on your printer and attaching the umbilical cable take the small cable tie clamp and make sure the flat side is facing the wiring loom. this is important because it holds the wires in their natural place rather than pulling then towards the clamp.

the other three faces have a notch for the cable tie to sit within giving a secure anchor point.

DO NOT GLUE this in place as it is designed to stay with the loom and simply slide off when removing the umbilical.

the models have been set so they should print straight from the files.

any feedback on this mod would be great to make it better!

as always, happy printing!
