I really liked the idea of the speedbump and hinged riser by these contributors listed below so I combined them to make them into one. Added 10mm height to the original parts and made ventilated and non-ventilated side pieces. Back plate is solid.
Supports are required for some of the parts, especially the Hinged_ChainlinkSide.
To get the cable chain lifted high enough to always enter the slot can be problematic, but is resolved with one or two links that need to be added to the chain depending on chain sag. I printed the one for the front, but had some issues and made one for the back also, once printed, the issue went away for me. These links attach to the start and end of the chain as pictured. The lift is important to get over the lip of the cavity, but it's hard to predict how much lift is needed. The “lift” cable links do not require disassembly or rewiring, you just remove an existing link (or two) from the cable chain and put these in it's place. There is a slot for the existing wire bundle.
NSTALLATION
1. Remove existing screws from top of K1
2. Attach printed corners, using m3x40mm screws to top of K1.
3. Attach UpperHinge to lid. They can be inserted at cable cutout at rear of lid and slid into place.
4. Align UpperHinge and lower bracket hinge holes. Use either printed pin, M2.5x40mm screw, or 2.5mm x 40mm rod, to push through holes.
5. Attach Chainlink_Front to fixed link on printhead. You will have to remove a link or two from this position.
6. Attach Chainlink_Back to the rear end of the chain, again removing a link.
7. Print and insert either the ventilated or non-ventialed plates, but not necessary.
NOTES:
- Print Pin laying flat on bed
- Print Pin and UpperHinge solid.
- The printed hinge pin does get a good amount of pressure and will flex. Hasn't broken on me yet, but I have ordered solid pins as recommended by JC.
- A side bowden clip is included as the bowden tube can interfere if installed on the top of the chain when entering into the cavity.
The author remixed this model.
Altered the JC Hinged Lid Riser by adding in the Speedbump idea to make one lid riser. Changed the heights to make it higher by 10mm. Some parts are the same, just with a higher riser.
