Rugged Boxes are amazing, in the last few months I have printed several and I don't think I'll be stopping soon. This one was created after searching for a battery box. There are already tons of them here in Printables, but most of them store the batteries vertically, wasting unnecessary space in the process.
I wanted to print one box, not 4, so I gave myself the task of designing a box that could comfortably fit 50 batteries or more, both AA and AAA and it wasn't too bulky.
This model is the end result, I changed the dimensions of the box for the separator of the two battery types and the exact dimensions of the batteries in question.
Now, if you go to files you will see there are three lid designs. As of late I've become a fan of printed inlays with a single extruder and no MMU. Two lids were designed with that in mind.
If you've never heard of this, don't worry, I hadn't until I watched this video:
It's very easy to do in PrusaSlicer, contrary to what I used to think.
The author remixed this model.
I set the size to be able to store as many batteries as possible while also being compact. I also added a separator for the compartments of the batteries as well as finger slide for easy inserting while utilizing space as efficiently as possible.
