This model was designed to be used with the https://www.printables.com/model/529338-p1p-faceplate-cold-shoe-mount (P1P Faceplate Cold Shoe Mount) by Michael Murray, to allow a Blink Mini camera to be used to monitor my Bambu Labs P1S printer.  The right-hand hot-shoe mount is less likely to allow the camera to touch a closed printer door.

The internal camera with the P1S printer is very jerky, and cannot be used to stream to Alexa (or Fire-TV enabled TV) screens.  Hence the need for a Blink (or similar) camera.

This compact model is totally-complete, without the use of third-party camera mounts, ball-joints, etc, and so is very lightweight.  Since it mounts the Blink camera upside-down, the Blink app should be used to flip the picture.

I printed this with PLA on my Bambu Labs P1S, but used the following ‘override’ settings to ensure the strength and accuracy of the screw threads.

  • 0.08mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle.
  • Wall loops of 4.
  • Infill of 30%.
  • Inner and Outer Brims are used.
  • Tree supports on build plate where appropriate.
  • NB: To keep the ball-joint mobile, and the screw thread clear, no supports should be used for the Blink Mini Connector.stl file, but an inner brim is essential.
  • Use the original blink_mini_mount_top.stl file from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5206484/apps if you desire a lower camera angle, or you desire to use the left-hand hot-shoe connector without the possibility of touching a closed door.

I assume that this works with the P1P printer, but don't have one to test with.

Do not force, or over-tighten the screw connectors, although I found the parts to be very solid when using the recommended print settings.

This model could also be modified to work with cameras requiring 1/4-inch screw or GoPro-style mounts.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Hotshoe Mount for Baton3 Flashlight (V2)

Differences of the remix compared to the original

This uses a modifed form of the Grow Tent Blink Mini Mount model by One_Saturday for the Blink Mini connector, and parts of the Hotshoe Mount for Baton3 Flashlight (V2) by ttait_vantim for the hot-shoe connector.

A shortened version of the blink_mini_mount_top.stl file is used, although the original version can also be used for a different camera angle.
