I needed a way to mount a Ubiquiti U6 Lite AP close to the ceiling but in a way that doesn't require drilling any holes in the ceiling or any other modification to the building. So I came up with this model, that mounts the AP to a pillar (350mm in diameter) by strapping it to the pillar using a lashing strap. Parts are easy to print, no supports required.

I didn't use the original mounting bracket on purpose as the AP seems to get quite warm when in operation as it can't really dissipate the heat, so my part adds more space for better airflow.

  1. Slot part U6_1 into the AP. The original mounting bracket is not required, this mount uses the bayonett joint of the AP.
  2. Insert part U6_3 to stop the AP twisting out. Optionally secure it with a M4x10 bolt.
  3. Insert the thread of part U6_1 into part U6_4 and screw on part U6_2 to secure it.
  4. Strap part U6_4 to the pillar using a lashing strap. I used a white one for aesthetical reasons :-)
