I was asked by user @thatoneguy314 if I can share thoselines seen on my remix Inner.stl photos from thing id 4348247 (edit for printable.com import: https://www.printables.com/de/model/614930-remix-stargate-inner-part).

Unfortunately I cannot share my stl files directly but I can give you a manual and some example files.

For my reasoning I have to cite myself (see comment section of thing named above):

Hello,
yes I made it myself. Had to modify all glyphs a bit to add those lines. I will not upload those glyph changes, because they are part of my attempt (work in progress) to rotate the glyph ring with a stepper motor.

I inserted magnets and NFC tags into the glyphs to locate and read/detect the glyphs. Therefore I had to split each glyph into two parts (backplate and the glyph with the line modification).

The backplate contains spaces for the magnets and tags and the glyph was glued on top of it.

Currently I have not decided if I will upload those changes + glyph ring powertrain concept/blueprints, because I don't know if this ever works (like I said it is an attempt).

You can examine the necessary changes from the provided example files and from the manual below.

PLEASE NOTE: This modification is not tested on the original parts. Therefore make a small testsample yourself before modifing and printing of every glyph.

Manual

Preamble

Download (all) glyphs from here: thing id 2783393 "5ft Lighted Stargate".

Download example files from this thing.

Preperation glyph

On each glyph side a indent has to be made to insert the Glyph_Mod_Lines.stl.

The *Lines.stl has a width of 8mm and therefore the indent has to be 4mm. When you put to modified glyphs together you get the 8mm gap for the lines.

The added indent depth to the glyph is 0.5mm.

Repeat that for all glyphs.

Lines

Print line object.

The provided line file should be flush with the top surface of the glyph.

If the lines stick out a bit you can reduce the bottom plate of the lines to match the height difference.

Assemble

Press and maybe glue the parts together.

To prevent glue marks do not use to much glue so that no leakage between the parts occures.

I recommend to use a glue which becomes translucent during drying.
