Hallo,

Works great! I built the Pastamatic and had it working with a cordless drill. The single motor option didn't have enough torque to drive it though, as others reported. This dual motor option has not had a problem. The axle retainer is important and just slides on. I hold it on during use with a plastic U-shaped clip hooked on one of the screws. Printed in Bambu PETG-CF (Indigo Blue).
I added a hole (just a negative volume cylinder in PrusaSlicer) to the side for the power connector. I put some heat shrink and CA glue on the outside of the power connector to hold it in place.
Thanks for sharing!

thank you for the nice review, that color is great!! happy respooling!

Does the lids.step file include the dual motor lid or just the single motor lid? I wanted to put an extra pair of screws into the box to make it more secure. Ive modded the box itself, but I don't see a dual motor lid step file. Is one available?

need to post the file for the modified bracket

For those looking for screw sizes, here's what worked for me:

Controller Board: M2.5x4mm
Motor Mount: M3x8mm
Case: M3x16mm

Suggestion for designer: the bottom hole for PSU wires isn't in a good location with this controller, since the connections are at the bottom of the controller. I suspect that this was designed with a different controller in mind originally. I drilled out a hole on the right side to use instead. Just some thoughts.

Overall, very effective design.

I'm using this add one as well that others have mentioned for drive spindle retention:
https://www.printables.com/model/621425-pastamatic-axle-holder.

I'm also using on of these clips on the opposite end of the driven spindle for retention as well:
https://www.printables.com/model/499110-pastamatic-retrofit-for-better-target-spindle-rete/comments for retention.

I posted the same in the MakerWorld version of this item, I hope that's OK.

@mikesp18_1542770 Thank you so much for posting the breakdown of parts!

Mind if I ask for a confirmation if these are the correct counterparts for the motor and controller if we're ordering from Aliexpress?

Motor: 2x https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832481963309.html

Speed controller: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806250017394.html

Power supply: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805430343172.html

so one of the motors is reversed polarity correct?

@OhioInspire_215284 you ever find out if the motor polarity is reversed?

@Sasher1982_1871206 it’s not. It’s a the same on both motors

hey do you happen to have a wire up guide?

What power supply are you using for the speed controller to run both motors?

Works great, everything fits well. Definitely need to make this setup to keep spool arbor engaged.
