Print instructions

The axle and springs are to be printed in invisible material, the hub and cap in orange or other visible colors.

In the shown example the first and last 15 mm of the hub were printed in Vertigo Starlight, the middle section in Colorfabb Orange.

To assemble, follow instructions of the Integrated Auto-Rewind Spool Holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3781815

For a stand and tube holder, check the Universal Auto-Rewind Spool Holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3338467

The use of bright, focused LEDs with small viewing angle is recommended to make the face well visible. The pictured rewinder uses a Vishay VLCS5830 as red LED and Multicomp MC703-1061 as green LED. The collars of these LEDs should be removed with mechanical tools and the hole in the axle has to be drilled to 5.0 or 5.1 mm to make the LEDs fit deep inside the axle.

The integrated rewinder is fully parametric, so it is possible to tune the size, diameter, spring stiffness and many other parameters to your liking. Download the .scad file from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3781815, load it in OpenSCAD software, activate the Halloween mode, adjust any other parameters and generate and export the STL.

The axle can be generated using the Parametric rewinder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3252111, use the ledHole option to create space for the LEDs.

Happy Halloween!!!
