This model is based on the excellent Delta-P fan duct with endoscope camera, but with a changed camera setup, where the camera is optional / detachable, and uses made-for-purpose camera hardware.

Changes to remix

  1. Improved camera install
Like the model this is remixed from, this model lets you attach a camera to the fan duct. Instead of a endoscope camera though i decided to get my self a more made-for-purpose camera. This one looks cleaner i think, and i can manually set the focus on the camera it self. See the description below for details on what camera to get
  2. Easily attach / detach camera
The camera is installed as an add on to the fan duct, meaning the fan duct is one part that you can attach the camera module to later. Not having the camera on lets you see the nozzle your self like the original fan duct. The camera module is attached via a magnet and one screw.
  3. Hidden / Routed wires for LEDS
I decided i wanted to hide the wires for the LEDS so i made some changes to the fan duct and mounting plate for easily routing the wires for the LEDS.

What you will need

  • Printed parts different from remix
This remix has changed both the fan duct, and the mounting plate, and added a new part - the camera mount, so all three parts needs to be printed. Parts are oriented the way they should be printed. Only the cammount needs support on the floating part with the screw hole
  • Camera hardware
I got the following from AliExpress and chose the FF 5MP variant, as the FF variant lets me manually set the focus of the lens it self. I do not know if the AF variants (Auto Focus) will be able to focus as close as required.

(Below list is shamelessly stolen from the indstructables of the model this is remixed from):

  • A 3d printer (This guide is specifically made for the Prusa MK3S+, if you have a different printer you have to figure out a different way of mounting the camera)
  • 3mm white LEDs (Preferably 3,3v ones so you can turn them on and off using Octoprint)
  • Red and Black multithreaded wires
  • 2x Magnets for mounting the camera to the fanshroud size 20x6x2 mm (Like these from AliExpress)
  • Heat shrink tubing
  • Soldering iron and solder

I've been using this setup for a few months now and it has been working flawlessly.
