Chefs Choice 615 Blade Retainer

The retaining nut on my Chefs Choice food slicer broke.  I originally tried (for 3 years) to get a new part from the manufacturer with no success.  I was about ready to send it to the landfill. 

I then purchased a 3d Printer and found the model this is remixed from and printed it.  That worked really well for about 6 months before, it too, broke.  In the exact same location as the original part.  I rebuilt the original model and made it stronger, easier to print and easier to install and use.  

Over three years later (October 2023) and the print, from PLA, is still going strong. This slicer gets heavy use, every single day so I am really happy that it was rescued from oblivion. 

The reason for this remix is that the original part and the 3dprinted replacement both failed in the same way so I made a stronger version.

This version should have:

• a stronger back where the bolt attaches to the slicer which is the point of failure of the original
• a different screw thread (M20x1.5) since it was easier in TinkerCad
• a little looser tolerances in the thread so there is less fiddling to make the thread work
• can be printed with no support anywhere
• slightly rounded the edges of the part that sticks out the side of the nut to make it easier to manipulate when easing the threads
• Adjusted the three positioning holes as the addition of the extra material to make it stronger prevented the originals from working (at least as I measured them). I have no idea if the positioning pins vary from machine to machine so YMMV
