A nice feather display to hang on your wall. This was made as an experiment in cutting bridged strings as part of the model design, and to test out the Shapr3D history based parametric modelling beta.
If you would like to view the 3D model in colour in your browser and with optional AR, this is available directly at the Shapr3D viewer here (please let me know if this link breaks, as it was made from the Shapr3D Parametric beta).
Printing
There is a pre-painted file for Bambu users, as well as a separate normal 3MF file. Bambu users should have arachne walls pre-selected.
I hear that in Cura or PrusaSlicer you should select Print Thin Walls to make the print work, but have not tested these slicers personally.
Please use a 0.2 mm layer height and a 0.4 nozzle.
Post-Printing
This model is designed to have the outer parts of the feathers removed carefully as pictured. I have not really worked out the best way to do this yet to keep them straight. I have tried a blunt scalpel (need to replace blade) and some snips. Perhaps a very sharp craft knife is the way to go.
It also looks great and supports the outer parts of the feathers as per the second picture, if this is what you wish.
