This has been a big project and undergone a number of revisions. If you can't tell by looking, it was designed for functionality and feel, not looks ^\_(ツ)_/^
Quick video: https://youtu.be/7aGJgEGTohQ
220mm in length, it can print on many low cost 3d printers.
It is the most realistic racing simulator gear-stick according to myself :P

Features:
  • 6 Speed H-pattern
  • Push down then 6th position for reverse
  • Realistic spring back to center
  • Uses cheap Zero Delay arcade PCB (or modify to use any other HID/Arduino board)
  • Reasonably low cost
Parts needed:
  • M8 threaded rod - Lengths: 148mm, 220mm (220 can be adjusted for gear-stick height)
  • 5x M8 Nyloc nuts
  • 1x M8 Nut <6mm height for Rod End locking
  • 4x M8 Nuts for base mounting
  • 2x M8 Washers
  • 6x M6 Nuts for top cover mounting
  • 6x M6 Screws (Length: 15-20mm)
  • 2x M3 Screws (Length: 5-8mm)
  • 3x M8 Right hand threaded Female Rod Ends
  • 8mm ID, 10mm OD aluminum tube - Lengths: 42mm, 78mm
  • Loctite 290 or 262
  • 2x springs <12mm OD, Length >25mm, Strength depending on gear lock requirements
  • 1x spring <24mm OD, >11mm ID, Length >30mm, Strength depending on push down for reverse requirements
  • 2x springs <10.4mm OD, >6mm ID, Length >29mm, Strength depending on return to center requirements
  • 7x 12.8mm MSW-22 Micro Switches with plain short levers (https://www.tme.eu/en/details/msm-22/microswitches-snap-action/ninigi/msw-22/)
  • 1x Zero Delay Arcade USB PCB with cables (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002662416786.html)
  • 1x Gear-stick knob M8 thread support (Note: stick can rotate freely in the current revision so best to avoid labeled knobs)
Tools/extras needed:
  • 13mm spanners
  • Screwdriver(s)
  • Superglue for end nub >30s dry time
  • Soldering Iron & Solder (If switches/cables are not plug-able)
  • File or similar to clean ends of M8 Rod/Aluminum tube
  • Angle grinder or hack saw for cutting M8 rod and aluminum tube
  • Electric drill (Optional but will make things much quicker)
  • Hot glue gun
  • 4x Small cable ties (Optionally use hot glue)
  • Mechanical grease for gear selector and center returns shaft (Lithium grease has worked well so far for me)
Notes:

I have found it more reliable to remove the gear6depress and remove the metal lever from the gear 6 switch and move it forward so the reverse selector presses the plastic switch directly. See attached photo

Turns out Loctite 290 and 262 might be overkill, Blue 243 seems perfect allowing for disassembly or adjustment.

To make supports easier to remove, set the z support distance to two layers instead of one, x/y distance I use 1.2mm

There was a mistake with the previous base stl, the rear pcb mounts interfered with the gear selector, I had to snap them off and use hot glue on top of the rear tie rod end to attach the pcb. File has now been updated and fixed.
