I built the Mini Warehouse for use with the remote controlled Mini-Skidi RC model that I remixed here: https://www.printables.com/model/567657-the-mini-skidi-rubber-remix. It became a play environment for young drivers. The warehouse was very sturdy once the beams were seated with downward pressure. But after a few “hits” by inattentive Skidi drivers, they could become unseated. (*NOT* the intended design requirement for the warehouse!) . Now this is also caused by printer imperfections and/or poor filament and not due to the model.
After creating some simple “beam locks” the warehouse could withstand more “Skidi-abuse”. I also added/enhanced some other parts that would withstand direct hits. If you abuse your warehouse, some of these items might help.
The beam locks come in 2 unit and 3 unit size currently. They simply insert above the opening between the cross beam and vertical beam. They can be removed easily with a small flat blade screwdriver. This is a very quick design and I intend to add a few more size options and perhaps other parts.
The two sizes of plywood offer a larger ridge across the bottom to resist unseating. A foot allows one to glue rubber to the bottom, to prevent the frame from sliding across a smooth surface.
The video below shows the advantage of the beam lock and a few other mods.
