Paint Carousel
35 Bottle paint rack with a lazy Susan to spin it around.
I designed the rack for Mission Models paints but it works well for Model Master, Testors, Badger Needle Juice and with the insert Vallejo. There is a Test Fit to print so you can test your paint out before you spend hours printing the whole thing. The carrying handle lifts up and then drops back in place when you are done. There are spots for you paint brushes mixing cups and sticks as well as thinner and polyurethane.
Hardware needed:
- 1- 8 inch Lazy Susan
- 8- 3mm X 20mm Cap Screw Bolts
- 8- 3mm nuts
- 1- 3mm X 16mm Cap Screw Bolts
- 4- 4mm X 20mm Flat Head Countersunk Bolts
- 4- 4mm nuts
Assembly:
- Install handle in the top section. Flip over the top and place the stopper on the handle. Install 3mm X 16mm bolt through the stopper and handle.
- Use the pull method to install 3mm and 4mm nuts in the bottom sections. Note: the wells are fairly deep if you do not have long enough bolts screw the nut on the end of a bolt and tap it part way in then unscrew and reattach from the other side and use the pull method.
- Assemble the bottom sections with the dove tails. There are slight differences in the dove tails so they should only mate one way.
- Set the top section on top of the bottom noting the orientation of the screw holes. The screw holes will only line up one way. Use 3mm X 20mm bolts to attach top and bottom together.
- Flip the paint rack upside down on your lap. Place printed flat washers on the bottom over the 4mm holes. Align the lazy Susan with the holes. Use 4mm X 20mm bolts to attach the lazy Susan.
- Press Vallejo inserts into any paint bottle spaces you want to make smaller.
