This wall-mounted spool holder is smooth, quiet, and easy to operate. It utilizes 6001-2RS ball bearings—two for each spool mount.

Print at 0.20mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle, or at 0.3mm layer height with a 0.6mm nozzle. No supports are needed. Position the arms with the longer part on the bed. (Print files supplied for 0.4mm nozzle and 0.6mm nozzle.) See photo on how to orient all parts on the print bed.

A separate jig is provided to ensure the arms are mounted at the correct distance.

Build instructions (see photos)
  1. Push pin through one end of the ball bearing.
  2. Thread nut on pin; you may need pliers.
  3. Push ball bearing into the tube as far as you can with your fingers.
  4. If necessary, use a mallet to gently hammer the ball bearing until it pushes against the ridge on tube's inside. Make sure to keep the ball bearing straight as you hammer it in. (If the ball bearing goes in diagonally, you will crack the tube.)
  5. Use pliers to lift the pin back out of the ball bearing.
  6. Use the provided jig to mount both arms against the wall.

Can be used with my 5-wheel filament buffer.
