I made this Battery Thread Cap Replacement after a close friend had a hard time replacing the batteries of her Nikon EM Camera because the piece was stripped.
First, I analyzed the design of this cap, especially seen in older cameras, and realized that its main benefit is that it can be easily turned (to access the battery compartment) with a coin; and everybody has a coin. However, that is also its major flaw, because using a coin wears the cap really quickly. That is why I preserved everything from the original design when I reversed-engineered it, except that I reduced the coin slot so that instead you can use a flat screwdriver or a key to remove the battery cap when you need to.
I designed the thread cap in SolidWorks and you can find the SLDPRT file (among other useful files too) below in the model files.
Feel free to remix the design, adapt it to your needs, and improve it, of course.
