Update 2023-10-10: I added the FreeCAD files for the models.
This model is a replacement coupler for Playmobil locomotives.
There are 2 versions with slightly different size of the holding clips:
Playmobil-Kupplung.stl
This is the slightly looser fit.
It fits well into Playmobil 5258 RC locomotive (yellow loco on the left).
Playmobil-Kupplung-V2.stl
This is the slightly tighter fit.
It fits well into Playmobil 4027 locomotive (red loco on the right).
They might fit into most other Playmobil locomotives as well, but I cannot test this.
I recommend printing the first version and testing if it fits. If it is loose then use the second version.
There is also a closed variant of each version.
Playmobil-Kupplung-Closed.stl
Playmobil-Kupplung-V2-Closed.stl
Its geometry will prevent a wagon's coupling hook from engaging. The hollow on the underside will still guide the wagon's coupler, even trough curves. When the loco reverses the wagon's coupling hook simply slides out.
I will use the loco with that coupler to help push heavy trains up a steep incline. This way I don't need extra uncoupling infrastructure.
Printing
The STLs are already oriented upside down so that they can be printed without support.
I used PETG because the holder clips need to flex quite a bit. PLA might break, ABS/ASA might work.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
