build hedgehog house with 3D printed templates // Igelhäuschen mit 3D-gedruckten Schablonen bauen

Due to a kind request, here are the plans for building a well-functioning hedgehog house. I have placed the entrances/exits to the front in the design, in order to be able to film well with a wildlife camera.

We have several of them in use: the houses work already in the third year both as a feeding place and as a hibernation opportunity, if you leave some leaves around for the animals to build a nest :D

Material list hardware store:

• 2 boards a 78x25 cm (3-layer board ) 19mm for the big walls in the front and in the back
• 4 boards a 41x23 cm (3-layer board) 19mm for the partition walls
• 1 board a 88x55 cm (screen printing plate) 19 mm for the weatherproof roof
• 2 beams a 36 cm length (frame wood) 54x54 mm as folding support, mounted under the roof
• Torx countersunk screws 4.5 x 50 mm

3D printed parts:

• 4 x feet (Fuss_fuer_Igelhaeuschen), so that the wood does not stand in the wet and become soaked
• Anrissschablone1 (=Marking template1): For marking the door
• Anrissschablone2: To combine with template1. For 2/3 drilling of the inner walls
• Anrissschablone3: To be combined with template 1 and 2. For the upper drillings of the inner and outer wall
• Anrissschablone4: For the lid, optional. The dimensions for mounting the 2 beams a 36 cm are 95x95mm for positioning the edges and 122x122mm for drilling the holes.

Procedure:

• First mark everything!
  * Use the templates to scribe the two large boards (wall front/rear) and the roof. The templates are symmetrical and can be used for left, right and front and back.
  * For marking the two passages at the inner walls there is no template. Please draw the rectangle yourself!
• First make all the holes (3.5 and 5 mm)
• Then make the cutouts with the jigsaw!
• Be sure to cut out the inner contours of the door first (and keep it).
  Only in the second step cut the outer contours of the door.

p.s. Please be careful:
Hedgehogs are mainly carnivores! They don't like cereals, fruits, sweets etc. and with milk you can even kill them. Therefore it is best to inform, e.g. under:

Aufgrund einer freundlichen Anfrage gibt es hier die Pläne zum Bauen eines gut funktionierenden Igelhäuschens. Ich habe beim Design die Ein-/Ausgänge nach vorne gesetzt, um mit einer Wildtierkamera gut filmen zu können.

Bei uns sind gleich mehrere davon im Einsatz: die Häuschen funktionieren bereits im dritten Jahr sowohl als Futterstelle, als auch als Überwinterungsgelegenheit, wenn man etwas Laub für die Tiere zum Nestbauen herumliegen lässt :D

Materialliste Baumarkt:

• 2 Bretter a 78x25 cm (3-Schichtplatte ) 19mm für die großen Wände vorne und hinten
• 4 Bretter a 41x23 cm (3-Schichtplatte) 19mm für die Zwischenwände
• 1 Brett a 88x55 cm (Siebdruckplatte) 19 mm für das wetterfeste Dach
• 2 Balken a 36 cm länge (Rahmenholz) 54x54 mm als Klappstütze, unter dem Dach montiert
• Torx Senkkopfschrauben 4,5 x 50 mm

3D-gedruckte Teile:

• 4 x Füße, damit das Holz nicht im Nassen steht und sich vollsaugt
• Anrissschablone1: Zum Markieren der Tür
• Anrissschablone2: Zum Kombinieren mit Schablone1. Für 2/3 Bohrungen der Innenwände
• Anrissschablone3: Zum Kombinieren mit Schablone 1 und 2. Für die oberen Bohrungen von Innen- und Außenwand
• Anrissschablone4: Für den Deckel, optional. Die Maße zur Montage der 2 Balken a 36 cm sind 95x95mm für die Positionierung der Kanten und 122x122mm für die Bohrungen.

Vorgehen:

• Zuerst alles anzeichnen!
  * Mit den Schablonen können die zwei großen Bretter (Wand vorne/hinten)  und das Dach angerissen werden. Die Schablonen sind symmetrisch und können für links, rechts und vorne und hinten verwendet werden.
  * Zum Anzeichnen der zwei Durchgänge bei den Innenwänden gibt es keine Schablone. Hier bitte selbst das Rechteck zeichnen!
• Zuerst alle Bohrungen machen (3,5 und 5 mm)
• Dann erst die Ausschnitte mit der Stichsäge!
• Unbedingt die Innenkonturen des Türchens zuerst ausschneiden (und es aufbewahren)
  Erst im zweiten Schritt die Außenkonturen des Türchens schneiden.
