I am pretty satisfied with that one. It took me several days to fit it nice and snug to my beloved quadmula siren split f3 quad and it was worth all the thinkering.

The rails are clip on and fit snug. They cover the electronics very well and do not add that much weight. I am by no means an expert in aero dynamics or flow mechanics but I guess that cover does add to less turbulent air flow and will there for compensate for some of its extra weight. It guides the battery strap all around the frame. The battery strap will also secure the clip on side rails to the frame. There is enought space to feed a USB c cable through the side plates into a Diatone Mamba that is other wise covered by the battery strap.
I also equipped those side rails with air intakes that hopefully will help ventilate the guts… So far without thermal issues for my siren.

Oh, I printed it with simple PLA. Upright (or upside down, to your likes).

On hard crashes, the battery might “rip of” the clipped rail and unclip it. Due to the tight clearances oit happend to my siren, that the side rail got into the prop. But… yeah… shit break. The rail took some scars and the prop got replaced. Did I mention, I am pretty proud of that particular modal? It gave my siren as much of a distinctive, lovely look as it spend protection. You should consider fitting it to your small 3 inch as well. Maybe adopt it and publish your adoption or improvement.
