Magnetic Blackboard Chalk-Holder

A magnetic holder for blackboards that fits 2 packs of Jolly brand chalk packets. 

Can be easily modified to fit other objects i.e. whiteboard markers or whatever you need to hold on a magnetic surface. 

In my case the packets were roughly 53x83x22 mm in size.

This design uses 9 magnets that are 5mm in diameter and 3mm thick. 

Depending on the wieght you want to hold with it your number of needed magnets may vary. For me 9 magnets hold up the 270g alright. 

The magnets are inserted in cavities that have a 0.6mm thick top and bottom, so you have to pause the print just before the cavities are closed which for me with a 0.2mm layer height was at layer 37 (see picture). 

I printed the model lying on the side of the magnets, which means it needs supports but makes the insertion of the magnets easy. 

! Keep in mind to remove the supports in the magnets' cavities !

0.4mm nozzle

0.2mm layer height

3 top/bottom layers

2 wall loops

15% infill
