Blue Series flanged Z motor cages for Rat Rig V-Core 3 (version 3)
Please also see my Gold Series versions of these if you want an even more rigid rear motor mount or compatibility with a V-Core 3.1

I like how Rat Rig in version have now followed my lead with:
...but I feel their two piece flange design is over complicated and fiddly.
"Design simple and only add complication when necessary."
This flanged design has flanges that seal against the floor panel. It also isolates the Z motors from the enclosure if you opt to put a floor panel in your V-Core 3. This will keep the Z motors cooler when your printer is enclosed.
I like how Rat Rig in version 3.1 have copied my three ideas of 1. putting flanges and 2. detents on the motor mounts and 3. designing them to work with much simplified floor panel cut outs but I feel their two piece flange design is over complicated and fiddly.
The flanges sitting on the floor panels also makes the mounts more rigid and the rear motor mount has a detent that sits in the extrusion to make it even more rigid.
Of course it also makes your printer look cleaner and stops dust and stuff ending up inside the bottom extrusion rails.
These motor mounts will work with the standard Rat Rig floor panel DXF files. But I have also included are cut out templates. This will make it easier to mark the floor panel cut outs around the motor cages and angle brackets if you want to cut your own floor panel.
The rear Z motor mount allows the rear Z motor to be moved forward and backwards in it's pocket just like the original rear Z motor mount.

Note these are designed for a 3 mm base panel. If you want them to suit a 4 mm floor panel just message me.

Version 5 Update 9/Sept/21
Corrected error on front motor cage lip.
Renamed all other files to version 5 to keep naming in synch.
Updated 6/Sept/21
The rear motor cage now has a detent that locks into the groove on top of the 3030 aluminium extrusion to help stop the motor cage flexing on it's mount while printing.
There is now also clearance in the motor cage to move the motor back and forth within the
cage.
These motor cages are a remix of the original Rat Rig parts.
