Microwave Door Latch

Door latch for microwave oven BEKO MGB 25333 BG. The original door latch tab broke and microwave stopped working. The service center offered only a complete door as a replacement, for which they asked €90, which I kindly refused.

3D printing has thus proven to be an ideal tool for repair and a money-saver. I took a photo of the part and calibrated it in Fusion 360. Then I measured the thickness with a caliper and managed to create a functional part on a very first attempt. I left out some details because they would only unnecessarily weaken the spare part and unnecessarily complicate the printing process.

Printing

• flat side on the build plate
• 0.20 mm layer height - 0.20 mm QUALITY profile in PrusaSlicer (no additional changes)
• with supports only on the build plate
• material: PLA but I believe it really doesn't matter here and PETG or ABS will do just fine
