This is a modified housing for the stock Sovol SV06 Plus filament runout sensor. It adds a channel on each side of the runout switch to accommodate short sections of slick PTFE tubing. This allows for a low-resistance path for the filament to travel. The switch is held firmly in just the right place and has a solid click on filament load and unload. No false positives or runouts. Both parts print without supports.

To install, cut and press-fit the appropriate lengths of PTFE tubing into their respective channels. Finally, open up the stock runout sensor casing (just two screws on the mounting bracket and a bit of gentle prying on the plastic), and install the stock runout switch into the new housing. Close and reinstall the mounting bracket on the new housing. The SV06 Plus uses a fairly generic runout sensor switch, so this casing will probably work with other switches of the same style, but this has not been tested.

Notes: It can be a bit tricky to get the filament to feed through the bottom section of PTFE tubing. Simply rotate the filament while inserting, or bend the end slightly, and it should go right through. If you're using a brittle filament such as ASA and bending is not an option, consider using a small drill bit (3-4mm diameter) to bevel/contersink the inlet of the bottom section of PTFE tubing. This should help tremendously with getting filament through.

You will need:

12mm length of 2mm ID, 4mm OD PTFE tubing for top (entrance) of sensor housing

5mm length of 2mm ID, 4mm OD PTFE tubing for bottom (exit) of sensor housing
