BioMech Finger Prosthesis - Finger Tip Rubber Insert Upgrade

Objective: Create a rubber Tip insert using a 3D printed insert.

Materials:

3D printed Inserts:

• For best quality, I got the inserts printed on a resin 3D printer (Formlabs Standard Resin (SLA), Layer height: 50μm) - 8 each.

Making the Silicon Mold:

• Nicpro Adjustable Molds Housing for Silicone Mold Making. (Link)
• 1/4 Clear Acrylic PlexiGlass Sheet (6" X 6"). (Link)
• Mitreapel Silicone Mold Release Spray (Link)
• Permatex 80050 Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive (Link)

Silicon to make mold:

• BBDINO Silicone Mold Making Kit. (Link)

Liquid Urethane Rubber for casting:

• Smooth-On VytaFlex 60 - Liquid Urethane Rubber.(Link)
• Alumilite Dye Liquid Color - Black. (Link)
• Gorilla 2 Part Epoxy Glue (Link)

Note: Some videos show how to de-gas both Silicon Mold and Poly-urethane rubber for best results, I didn’t de-gas any fluids for this project.
