While cleaning out the attic, I stumbled across a box of old Super-8 films - wait, the player must be here too. Found it!

Unfortunately, the anticipation of nostalgic family videos was only short, the player was broken. During playback, the reel didn't seem to run with the film, so the film tape kept getting stuck. The films and the player probably date from the late 1970s/early 1980s.
So, pull the plug and check, wow - so much mechanics, no idea what has to happen in the device so that it works. On the second look then the realization, a kind of gear is defective, broken through. With some effort I removed the part. It seemed to be assembled from some kind of metal and plastic. I guess it's job is to synchronize the rotation speed of the film reel.

Can it be redesigned and printed? Yes, I thought, and gave it a try.
The first prototype was too weak, so more filling and thicker walls.
Voila - the machine runs again - huge joy in the whole family.

After that I took the next days to digitize the films (simply filmed with the cell phone from the screen). The attic had to be patient and will be cleaned up later!

Some technical data and printing Instructions:

The projector is made by Revue, model lux sound 50 b
The part was printed with PLA. It doesn't hurt to print the part with 100% infill.
For a clean thread, print with a small layer, 0.2 mm or less.

Originally, the part consists of metal and plastic - I made it completely out of plastic.
The Part can be printed as-is, no Support needed. To install it, i used the Screws already provided by the original Part.
