Version 2 of the Prusament Box Storage System ( https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/57155-prusament-box-storage-system ) Fixes a few issues with the original. Boxes should still fit in the new version but they may be a bit tight.

Like many of the people here, I imagine, I have had a problem with what to do with the empty reels and boxes from the Prusament. I would prefer not to throw them away so I modelled this system to store my collection of random screws.

This is based on Alexandre Chappel's Amazing Storage system, but modified to fit into the Prusament boxes. Please go and visit his channel for a much more comprehensive storage system.

Printed Parts

1 of each: Lock, Lock Handle, Lock Base, Tray Handle

For the Grid. If you have a printer that has a bed larger than 202mmx202mm, Print 2x (1x for each layer) of the Grid. If your printer's bed is smaller than this print 8x (4x for each layer) of the Grid corner's and join them to together.

Boxes: there are 49 slots for boxes.

Required Hardware:

2x M3x12 Socket Cap head screws

2x M3x20 Socket Cap head screws

4x M3 Nut

1x 202x202x2mm Rigid Sheet (plastic, wood, or Metal)

Assembly Instructions.

  1. Print out all of the Parts required
  2. Cut the rigid sheet to the required size and drill a 3mm hole in the centre.
  3. Glue the Grid pieces to the inside base of the Prusament box and the top of the rigid sheet. Super glue works fine.
  4. Using a M3x12 Screw and M3 nut, screw the Tray handle through the hole in the rigid sheet.
  5. Cut the flaps from the Lid of the Prusament Box, leaving around 2-3cm of the flaps.
  6. Using an M3 drill bit, drill out the holes in the Lock, and Lock Base.
  7. Push the M3x12 Screw into the Lock, then secure it to the Lock Base with the M3 nut.
  8. With the M3x20 Screws, Attach the Lock handle to the Lock base.
  9. Cut a 105x13mm hole in the front flap of the Prusament box for the Lock Handle
  10. Glue the Lock Base to the front of the Prusament box, making sure the Handle fits through the hole in the lid.
  11. Fill up all of the slots with boxes.
