Introduction

In the last 5 years I have really got into sailing and boating in general, and even after joining a sailing club I noticed that many people subscribe to the “if you cant tie knots, tie lots” method of attaching boats.

I am just about to embark on some RYA competent crew training and one of the criteria to pass the course is to know how to tie a selection of knots so I wanted a tool to help me train my knots. I had a quick look and found this Sailors Knots Trainings tool by @Lars_218601 but thought that I could make something a bit nicer and at least easier to print.

Print Instructions

Print all the parts separately and make sure to print 2 x half rings, you will need some super glue or other adhesive to stick the half rings together.

Assembly

Once printed make sure to stick the half rings together, then hook them with the ring holder before pushing the ring holder into the smaller squares on the cleat.

Push the small cleat onto the main cleat and you are good to go. You could glue the ring holder and small cleat into the main cleat however with my printer they push quite tightly together with no glue.

Enjoy
