These are replacement buttons for a vintage GRUNDIG Varixx - UMS 4401 SPCD mini hifi deck.

My wife wanted to listen to old cassette tapes she recorded  with her best friend approximately 30 years ago, but unfortunately the buttons of the tape deck broke due to aged plastic parts…

So I decided to 3D-print replacement buttons.

Actually, this project started my 3D-printing hobby :)

To begin with I opened the deck to get to the buttons. After disassembling the unit I measured the buttons as good as possible and created the models in Fusion360 (which also was my first project with this program).

It took a few adjustments (about 3 or 4 test prints) but in the end my wife was happy and me too.

I included a .3mf file with added supports for MK4. I printed all the buttons in one session without issues. But you could print them one by one if necessary.

The buttons in the pictures were printed on my first printer, a MK3S+ in Prusament PLA Galaxy Silver:

0.4 nozzle with 0.1mm layer height and paint-on-supports, default print settings.
