When I came across the original model by Drop.3D, I really loved the simplicity and yet elegance of the model. But I wanted to get rid of the TPU filament requirement for the flexibility. Instead, I wanted to play with use of the fabric to achieve flexibility in the model.
So, I designed these Necklace, Bracelet and also Earrings from scratch with huge influence from original model.
Printing with fabric is quite simple in fact. Just slice the parts as any other parts with your preferred filaments and colors. Once sliced, add a pause command at 3.00mm height (At exactly middle). Once the print is paused, lay down the fabric on the build plate covering entire print. You can use a small bead of think super glue to stick the fabric on model. After the fabric is laid properly, resume the print. I used mesh screen printing fabric. I have also attached fabric cutting profile as dxf file. If you have access to a cutting machine like cricut, you can also cut the fabric beforehand.
You'll need seven 6x3 magnets in total. 2 Magnets for the necklace and 3 for the bracelet. You will also need earring hooks and rings for the earrings.
