Original Xbox Disc Drive Gear

This model is a design of a replacement drive gear for the original Xbox disc drive.  This part is prone to breaking if the disc drive is forcibly opened or closed.  If this part fails, the drive will not be able to open or close.

This part can probably not be made successfully on an FDM machine due to the fine detail of the gear teeth.  It will most likely require a resin or polyjet printer to produce it properly.  I ended up using an Anycubic SLA printer, which was able to produce it successfully.

When replacing this gear make sure to thoroughly clean out the area this gear fits in to ensure there are no plastic chunks remaining from missing teeth.  It is also best to replace the "rubber band" while doing this.  Do not forget to use grease to ensure smooth operation.  I used white lithium which has worked well for me so far.
