S.W.A.T.C.H. is a growing list of filament swatches. Currently there are 2700+ unique swatches spanning numerous manufacturers from Overture, Inland, Prusament, Bambu Lab, and beyond. Go to the “Files” section of this Printables page to see the list of brands or scroll to the bottom of this description.

You can now generate your own SWATCHes with the FreeCAD project file + the macro, both downloadable below.

Directions on using the macro to generate your own custom swatches are at the top of the macro itself.

I'm not a pro FreeCADer, and ChatGPT did the coding work, so don't yell at me if it stinks! :D

Print at .2 layer height. ----- I use a .4mm nozzle.

The text on the swatch is arranged from top to bottom:

Color

I compiled the huge list of filaments in a spreadsheet and used a Python script in FreeCAD to generate the swatches. For most swatches, all three variables only require one line of text. However, sometimes the material type or the color name (ahem Protopasta ahem) are long enough that the text string needed to be split and continued on another line.

On the left side of its face is a heptagon which serves as a transparency test. The hole in the heptagon is to hang the swatch on a hook or use a binder ring, and there is a smaller keychain hole on the right.

Beyond the transparency test, I refrained from adding additional functionality such as bridge tests, wall tests, etc., as those are related to slicer settings and most people simply want swatches for a visual reference.

Also leave a comment if you just want me to reformat a particular swatch that looks funky due to the way the script generated it.
