A plastic piece of our shower curtain rod broke. This model is the replacement part.
I doubt that someone with this exact problem, with the exact same rod finds this. But maybe it can serve as an inspiration for similar repairs.
The plastic piece screws onto the spring. As the spring gets compressed, it slides over the metal rod, thus allowing for the rod to be held up in tension between two walls. The round piece has a soft side to prevent slipping, and is glued to the end of the plastic piece.
