This tool organizer is one of the first things I made in OpenSCAD. I added some customizability so you can make one that fits your needs.
There are two grids of cutouts and you can customize the number of rows and columns of each. You can also customize the size and shape of the cutouts.
Finally, you can also set the overall height.
You can use it to make an organizer for drill bits or even make something shallow to make a tray.
I've had this organizer on my desk in constant use for years. I printed it with Hatchbox Black PLA using the 0.25mm DRAFT setting. The default sizes and layout have worked great.
Open the .scad
file with OpenSCAD and use the customizer to set whatever parameters you want. The overall width is set by the size of the “small” cutouts. You might need to play with the sizes to get the outside wall for the “large” cutouts correct.
There's nothing special about the “large” and “small” cutouts - you can make one larger or smaller than the other. You could make the “small” cutouts larger than the other if you want to use it set the overall size.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
