A parametric Allen key organizer for IKEA SKÅDIS. This should allow you to make an organizer that will fit your Allen key set, provided that they are “bare”, i.e. no handles etc.

The included STL works with my BAHCO BE-9770 Allen key set, which has the following sizes (in mm): 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10

Uses the T-Nut system from @6d6178.

How to use

If your sizes match the ones in the STL, you can just print that.

Otherwise, you can open the .scad file in OpenSCAD, and adjust the following parameters:

  • keys: A list of key sizes, measured as the distance between two parallel sides of the key.
  • height: The height of the holder itself, excluding mounts.
  • tolerance_scale: A scale value applied to the final hole sizes, if you need it.
  • tolerance_add: A value added to the final hole sizes, after scaling.
  • back_spacing: The depth of the solid bit at the back, before the holes start. This should be at least 4mm.
  • spacing: The spacing between holes, as well as the size of the outer perimeters of the holes.

Make sure that you have the alignment guide file in the same folder as the .scad file.

Then save, render, and export, after which you should have an STL you can slice and print.

Slicer settings

I was able to print the model in PETG on a textured plate on my Prusa i3 MK3S+ without any issues. No brim or supports were needed.

Required hardware

For mounting, you should have two M2.5 nuts, and two 12 mm or 16mm M2.5 screws.
