I recently inherited an old lawn mower from my parents. One of the knobs for locking in the handle was missing and was repaired by duct tape.

That just wouldn't do for an owner of a 3D printer. I took a few measurements, and made something I considered \u201cclose enough\u201d for a modelling beginner.

After a couple iterations for fitting the nut correctly, and a few minutes of printing, I was ready to get back out there!

I hope this helps someone else out there with the same niche problem as me!

P.S. The blender file I used is attached for people that may need to adjust the slot for the nut due to printer tuning or a different nut altogether.

Printing settings I used and why I used them (but none are strictly required):

0.6mm Nozzle (because that's what I had on at the time)
0.3mm layer height (because of my nozzle size)
3 walls for strength (seems sturdy, probably don't need any more than that, but wouldn't go less than 3)
10% infill (probably overkill, the shape of the knob and the 3 walls give it the strength it needs)
I used supports, but you may not need them if your printer is well tuned
