Ash constructed the Motion Tracker as a tool to help the Nostromo's crew protect themselves against the eponymous Alien in the 1979 Ridley Scott film. In reality, this prop was built from a Panasonic Ranger 505 portable TV covered with greeblies from various sources.

One of those greeblies was a small window - either from an HO scale house or train kit, likely produced by Airfix. The part is exceedingly hard to find. This 3D model is based on the dimensions of an original example of that greeblie.

Such a tiny, hard to find part shouldn't stand in your way when you're trying to protect YOUR starship from Xenomorphs!

This model was designed as a commission for Christian Matzke - both an aspiring Nostromo crewmember and Dagon cultist - who graciously has allowed me to offer it to the whole prop-making community. You can check out Christian's work at: https://www.instagram.com/proppingupthemythos/

There are 4 versions of the part offered here. Those labeled “thin” are based on the original geometry, but the thin walls may not print well in some applications. “Beefy” had slightly thickened walls to print better on FDM printers. Likewise, models marked with .2mm have a mold mark (the small circle) that is .2mm deep for lower resolution applications. The .1mm files have a shallower mold mark for higher res printing.

For the record, Christian didn't ask me to be that extra, I'm just insane. ;-)

EDIT: Christian noticed a new detail on another prop photo - it appears that the windows (the originals) may have been open through the part (at least for the larger window opening. I have added a new version of each (marked “open”) at his request. Enjoy!
