Izon columns are routinely used for the isolation of nanoparticles using size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and for cleaning vesicles following immunostaining.
Full disclosure, the company that sells these columns also sells a $200 USD commercial rack, however, I think this design offers two major advantages:
i) Allows users to run multiple columns simultaneously
ii) Reduced cost - sole expense is the cost of printing / filament!
The Top Support and Bottom Support are meant to slot together and do not require adhesives. This allows the apparatus to be stored disassembled.
The Bottom Rack contains slots that allows for the collection of eluted EVs / exosomes in 1.5ml Eppendorf tubes.
NOTE: Bottom rack comes as two separate bodies and must be glued together or ‘welded’ using a soldering iron (beware of fumes…)
