To my dismay I recently found a high capacity Toshiba 3.5" HDD didn't fit on the sleds of the Fractal Design Core 1500.
I have seen other designs for similar purpose but they used M3 heat set inserts which I didn't have to hand, and the Fractal sled used 6-32 shoulder screws with antivibration grommets.
These brackets are first fixed with 6-32 screws into the side of the HDD. Then screw the assembly onto the sled using 6-32 screws.
Since I didn't have a tap, the design includes printed 6-32 threads, I found these worked surprisingly well.
Beware of the size of the screw head if using the rearmost screw position on the HDD. If the screw head sticks out too far it can interfere with the locking ears of the sled making it very hard to remove the sled from the case! Use a low head screw or the middle screw position.
Only tested with Fractal Core 1500 sleds. I have included the Fusion 360 file so alterations can be made. It is not a pretty, clean parametric design as I just needed the part quick to progress, but it may still be of use.
