My place has a water feature that has low surface fountain spouts. The cheap brass nozzles that were being used cost $25 each; there's 6 total. They only lasted 3-4 months before the chlorine in the water eroded them (see picture). The supplier isn’t stocking or selling them anymore because he doesn’t make enough profit. The only other viable nozzles of this type available cost $125 each that last maybe only twice as long as the cheap ones. After the building maintenance informed me of this, I offered to duplicate and 3D print the nozzles if I could borrow one of the old, bad ones. My nozzles have been installed for 3 months and show absolutely no sign of degradation of any kind. An added benefit, the black PETG looks better in the water feature than the brass!
To solve the issue of the tensioning screw that goes through the cap and into the center of the nozzle (see picture), I modelled the inner cylinder to receive a M5 8mm x 7mm threaded insert and used M5 brass bolts (hardware pictures: Amazon)
