1. Choose your preferred model:
v2 - classic and simple
v3 - bridging improvement (I printed)
v3L - 5 mm longer (in work)
2. Slice and dice
My settings: 0.4 nozzle, 0.2 layer height, pla
No supports, no raft, no brim, infill: 20%
Slicer: PrusaSlicer
- I had a small layer shift but in the end it doesn't affect the functionality
3. Post process
Cut the small tabs from the screw holes.
Check if you have any stringing inside and clean it if the case
Check if your fans fit the placement (2x 5015 24v fans)
3.1 Optional: I gave it a clear lacquer and glued some aluminum tape in the hot zones... pla (i can't print abs in bedroom in winter)
4. Fix fans:
I used 3 M4x20 screws to fixt the fans on the duct (the 4th doesn't fit nicely)
5. Check placement
Do a position check and measure where you can cut the cables, leave yourself a bit of extra cable just to avoid too short cables.
6. Splice
Cut the original cooling cable and splice it with the cables of the fans: red on red and black on black, ez pz.
6.1 Optional test
Before mounting you can make a test that it all works by plugin the fans and turning on cooling, just take care of eventual collisions.
7. Mounting
You will have to take down the CR-Touch
Set it in place, make sure the airflow hits the right spot by adjusting the height and tighten the screws to keep it in place.
Mount back the CR-Touch
Please let me know if you have any ideas of improvement or you would like to make, when i will have the time i'll take care of it ;)
