I could not find a holder for wire spools for the IKEA Skadis - system which fulfilled my needs, so i decided to build one. I also use this holder for other light weight spools. The holder uses the T-nuts system from 6d6178 (many thanks for this great idea). You may use other T-Nuts compatible with the system from 6d6178.
The prebuild stl-files are for seven 20mm spools, but you can customize this easily for your needs with OpenSCAD, the file is also attached. You will need the great BOSL2 - library for OpenSCAD (https://github.com/BelfrySCAD/BOSL2).
Customizing possibilities:
For stranded wires i use the cableguide, for solid wires i do not, but its up to you. If you are used to OpenSCAD it should be easy to adopt the holder to other pegboard systems.
The model is easy to print, you need no supports. I use PETG with at least 4 perimeters and depending of the weight of the spools with 25% to 100% infill.
For now i included only 5 rendered stl-files, feel free to ask me for more variations.
The author remixed this model.
