These models were rendered using MATLAB R2016a the data of the Stardust mission from the PDS site.

The file's names explained: name_1_x_10_y.stl is 1 : x* 10^y. So _1_6_10_7 is 1:600000000 or one in 60 million.

81P/Wild

Wild 2 is a quite active, nearly ellipsoidal, short period comet. These comets are originally from the Kuiper Belt, and were disrupted by Jupiter's gravity into a 6 year period orbit in September of 1974. It has big craters in its surface, most likely made by the material expelled from the comet rather than impact events.

  • Type: Comet.
