This kit made was to aid in the cutting and placement of label paper style ID cards.
ID card printers are expensive, so if you aren't making hundreds of ID cards often, you may be falling back to a more traditional and manual method of making the cards.
This kit comes with three pieces. The first piece is a stencil for the label. You can either use it to draw the outline for where you want to cut or go straight to a razor and cut it out with the stencil as a guide. The stencil is slightly smaller than the ID card length and width so that you don't have any over hangs.
The placement pieces hold the plastic ID card and the printed label for the card. The top alignment guide has small notches for the card to press fit in and be held in place. The bottom has chamfer edges for the label to settle centered in place. The sticky side of the label needs to be pointing up towards you.
You take the top part with the card in place, insert it into the base and once aligned, press the card from the center, out of the press fit hold and onto the label. Remove the top, press the card a bit more onto the label, remove the card and label and smooth out as necessary.
This card kit will save you a lot of time if you found yourself doing this process manually and struggling to place the label on straight.
Printing:
Print flat sides down
Notes:
* The ovals used to aid in pushing the cards out are not symmetrical. They don't align perfectly when top and bottom are together.
* When top and bottom are together, there is approximately a 1.7mm gap between the edges. They don't sit flush with one another.
* The outer fillet on the top and bottom don't match. Top is a bit sharper. Had to rebuild the top at one point and missed this fact. Will try to correct in the future, should I ever have a need to update this kit. (It works, which was my primary objective!)
