Ever wanted to roll your backpack straps into a nice cylinder? Don't say you didn't do it as a kid.
This SnapStrap simply snaps and holds your backpack strap tight so that it doesn't come loose anymore. Secondary its also really fun and satisfying to snap and open… repeatedly… I can't stop!
It's print in place with no supports needed and weights just slightly above 1 gram. What are you waiting for?
This model is sized for 23.5mm wide nylon strap which fits every common backpack strap i have tried so far.
UPDATE 29/09/2023:
Feel free to request a size from me and i can add it.
Worst case you can change things up in the Fusion 360 file yourself but be sure to keep the printing position as is (half way open), so it can snap right in place from the printer!
How to print:
Tolerances should be pretty loose, nothing special is needed. It works with 0.3 and 0.2 layer height just fine.
i printed mine in PETG and ABS and both worked very well. PETG has a tendency to squeak in hinges but that's not a big deal
Make sure your bed adheres properly, thin walls like to warp (especially abs) Although warping doesn't seem to affect it's function
Once printed press the SnapStrap together, simply get the hinge loose by pressing and snapping it together. really fun!
If somehow your hinge doesn't work, adjust your slicer accordingly. Worst case tolerances can also be set in the fusion file.
How to use:
It can handle less layers just fine but if you try to fit too many layers, it could get loose on its own eventually, break or you will not even be able to close it.
It is pretty tough but it not indesctructible.
