Meet Magneguards – the simple yet genius solution to a laser-cutting problem. Without them, when you cut through a part, the laser reflects off the honeycomb surface, leaving unsightly marks on your masterpiece. But with Magneguards, these worries vanish. They create space between your work and the surface, preventing laser damage.
But there's more – if your material isn't perfectly straight, Magneguards keep it steady and ensure precise cuts. Plus, their clever cone shape with grip-friendly details makes handling a breeze. And when you're done, the storage box with embedded washers makes cleanup quick and effortless. Discover the ease and precision of Magneguards – your laser-cutting game-changer!
Update: New Version available
The new version doesn't need the Heat set insert they just screw into the plastic. I will still leave the old version and the corresponding instructions
Old Assembly Animation
(New version doesn't need Heat set insert)
[Use the Insertion Tool to fit the Heat Set Insert straight into the Cone afterward]
As seen in the Animation above the magnet can simply be screwed onto the Cone
and you are done :)
Inserting the Insert [Outdated]
Washers inserted into the paused Print
The easiest way is to just download the “MagneGuards full assembly” and drag it into Bambuslicer this has the necessary pause as well as a color change already dialed in. but if you use a different Printer/slicer pause the print for the two box halves at the layer before the washer holes close up insert the washers and print. The rest of the assembly is even more straightforward, just screw the parts together and screw in the latches, the box is a derivative of the: Rugged Parametric Box
The Finished Box is great for keeping your MagneGuards in one place and since there are washers embedded you can almost just drop in your standoffs:
Showing yall how its done ;)
