I personally have a Sunlu S8 Plus as a starter printer. Bought a new mainboard and wanted to modify the frame and condense the size of the printer to save space. I made the feet to lift the frame away from the table and be able to hide everything on the bottom, comparable to Ender printers. it's not perfect and could be better. It's a prototype i'm working on when I have the free time.
I suggest 4-6 walls and 20% infill - less walls will make it very weak and can break easily.
You will reuse the hardware found on the printer.
I printed with PLA and have no issues, but I would prefer PETG for peace of mind.
